Students must arrive no later than one hour prior to their ceremony start time for line-up. Doctoral students will receive their hoods during this time.
Students will line up in the Zelnak Practice Facility at McCamish Pavilion. Students must enter on the east side of the building, located at the top of Eighth Street. Students may not leave any personal items in line-up.
For the Spring 2013 ceremony, doctoral and master’s candidates should plan to arrive no later than 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Bachelor’s candidates should plan to arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 2:00 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. Click here to view information on the split bachelor's ceremony.
Degrees are conferred in the following order: PhD, master’s, and bachelor’s. All students will be recognized individually on stage.
Doctoral candidates who attend the ceremony will receive their diplomas on stage. Master’s and bachelor’s candidates will receive a memento as they walk across the stage. The Registrar's Office will mail diplomas six to eight weeks after the ceremony.
All graduates will have a photo opportunity as they proceed off stage and back to their seats. For information on how to obtain photos taken during the ceremony, visit the Announcements and Memorabilia page.
Students will be led out of the ceremony by faculty and will exit McCamish Pavilion through the west entrance, located off of Fowler Street. Be sure to take all of your belongings, as there is no re-entry into the building.
Students should make arrangements with their guests prior to the ceremony on where to meet outside the building after the event.
Under their gowns, men should wear dark trousers and shoes, and a shirt with a collar. Women should wear dark slacks, or a skirt or dress, and low-heeled shoes.
Students will not have a place to drop off any jackets, purses, or personal belongings. All personal belongings brought into line-up must accompany the student into the ceremony. Please make arrangements with your guests to limit your personal belongings.
