Commencement would not be possible without the involvement and support of Georgia Tech faculty and staff. Thank you for your attendance at this momentous event in our graduates' careers.
Spring Commencement 2013 will be held at McCamish Pavilion at the intersection of 10th and Fowler Streets. Faculty will be directed in through the east entrance.
Faculty participants and volunteers are requested to arrive no later than one hour prior to ceremony start. We encourage faculty to arrive early due to anticipated traffic congestion. Please refer to your memo for additional information and directions.
Commencement is a ticketed event for guests. Students, participants and volunteers do not require a ticket, but will be required to check in.
Each semester, the Commencement Office requests volunteers from the colleges to assist in executing this momentous student event. Any staff or faculty member wishing to volunteer for Commencement may contact the Commencement Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also suggest speaking with the dean’s office of your college regarding volunteer opportunities no later than Friday, March 22, 2013.
Beginning this spring, the Institute will also host the President's Graduation Celebration at Tech Green on May 3 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. for all graduates and their families. Faculty are encouraged to join the campus community at this celebratory event.
All volunteers other than alignment representatives must wear academic regalia. Regalia consisting of a cap, gown, and hood can be rented at a cost of $45 and will be available at McCamish Pavilion on Commencement day. Faculty volunteers may also borrow regalia from their colleagues or dean’s office.
The deadline to place an order for regalia through the Commencement Office was Friday, March 22. If you are in need of regalia for the ceremony, please contact the Commencement Office at email@example.com. Late orders will be $65 per gown.
Faculty who rent regalia through the Commencement Office may pick up their robe in the Media Room at McCamish Pavilion the day of the ceremony. All regalia must be returned to the Media Room immediately following the ceremony.
Faculty and staff participating in Commencement will receive a memo prior to the event providing Commencement day directions and a parking pass. Memos will be distributed two weeks prior to Commencement day. Please speak with the dean's office of your college if you have any questions prior to memo distribution.
All faculty and staff volunteers will receive a reserved parking pass with their memo two weeks prior to the event. General parking and venue information can be found on the Venue Information page.
