During the ceremony, advisors will be seated in the first row of seats on the floor. When the doctoral candidates are presented to receive their diplomas, you will move to stage right and wait for your student's name to be called. When you hear your student's name, walk onto the stage via the stairs and collect a doctoral hood from the hooding assistant. You will then place the hood around your student's neck and return to your seat with your student.

As an advisor, you may have a departmental assignment in addition to your hooding responsibilities. If so, please incorporate those instructions with those above. Faculty participating in the Faculty Processional and also hooding may sit on the stage and not on the floor facing the stage.
