PhD, Master's, and Undergraduate Ceremony
DATE: Friday, August 1, 2008
TIME: 10:00 a.m. - Noon
LOCATION: Thomas Murphy Ballroom, Georgia World Congress Center
SPEAKER: Dr. James Foley, 2008 Distinguished Professor
PhD, master’s, and undergraduate candidates will all participate in one Summer Commencement ceremony. Tickets to Commencement are not required – seating is general and open to the public. Doors will open ninety minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Due to road construction and limited parking in downtown Atlanta, guests are encouraged to plan their travel arrangements accordingly and arrive early. Students will line up beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Registration Hall of Building B. Family members planning to meet their graduate following the ceremony should determine a location before the ceremony begins, as no designated area is reserved.
Commencement is a special event for all involved. Please show respect for everyone who has come to share in the experience. Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior will be removed from the event. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before entering the event facility and must remain turned off throughout the entire ceremony. Please show respect for other graduates by remaining in your seat until the end of the ceremony.
Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are allowed in or around the ceremony area. Anyone violating this code will be removed from the event.
