The recently launched Sustainable Atlanta web site (sustainableatlanta.org) utilized the expertise of some Georgia Tech students and faculty to develop policies on environmental sustainability. The site notes:
"Georgia Tech is working for a sustainable future through teaching, research, and outreach, and is nationally recognized for its sustainability practices. Faculty and students from the Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the School of Public Policy provide ongoing technical expertise to support sustainability and the work of Sustainable Atlanta."
Policy was developed in the areas of water conservation green industry, recycling and materials management, and green building.
In addition to developing policy, Georgia Tech also played a role in the development of Web site itself. Two Georgia Tech Alums from the class of 2001 founded the company that developed the site.
