Georgia Tech may select one student to participate in the Presidential Fellows Program. This non-resident program offers 75 select undergraduates and graduate students a year-long opportunity to study the U.S. Presidency and public policy-making process. Fellows participate in fall and spring leadership conferences in Washington, D.C., discuss national issues with Presidential scholars, and meet with public policy experts and senior government officials.

Fellows undertake an original research project on an aspect of the modern Presidency and/or the Congress and write a 10 to 15-page paper (single-spaced) which is eligible for awards and publication.

Eligibility:

Strong academic credentials, interest in the institutions of the Presidency and the Congress, and/or international affairs and public policy.

All majors are eligible. Both undergraduate and graduate students may be nominated.

Nomination Materials:

  • Resume
  • 300-word statement written by the student about why the program is of interest
  • Transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Contact information—name, phone number, email address, and both summer and fall mailing addresses

Faculty may nominate a student, and students may nominate themselves. Please send nominations as soon as possible and no later than April 2 to Dr. Kathryn Meehan, Fellowships Office (kathryn.meehan@provost.gatech.edu).
