Arts and Music

Many people are surprised to learn how many students come to Georgia Tech with a strong background in music, writing, or visual and performing arts.

Tech is home to more than 35 arts-related groups and countless creative individuals that have a range of outlets for enjoying and participating in theater, music, dance, poetry, and literary arts.

To name just a few: There's Under the Couch, which features open mic and DJ showcases; DramaTech, our student-run theater; Tech Arts Festival, which includes the Clough Art Crawl; and Ferst Center Presents, an annual series that brings world-renowned performance artists to campus.

To join vocal or choral groups, instrumental ensembles, or bands — including the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Marching Band — visit the School of Music.

Volunteerism and Community Service

Georgia Tech students take great pride in the Institute’s motto, “Progress and Service.” There are more than 40 service-based student organizations that provide local and international service opportunities. A list of ways to serve can be found on the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement website.

Student Diversity

Georgia Tech values diversity and inclusiveness. From the LGBTQIA Resource Center to the Office of Hispanic Initiatives, there are several campus programs focused on enhancing student racial, gender, and social equity.
