For most of the Tech community, Coach Paul Johnson is often seen as a speck on the sidelines at Bobby Dodd Stadium or in quick television shots during away games. But Friday, he’ll be in the Student Center Theater talking Yellow Jacket football with students, staff, faculty, alumni and fans.

The Technique is hosting Ramblin’ with Paul Johnson, a town hall style conversation. Technique columnist and former sports editor Alex Mitchell will moderate the conversation, which comes the day before Tech’s Homecoming game against the Clemson Tigers. All are invited to attend the free event.

“We’re very grateful to the Athletic Association and Coach Johnson for taking the time to attend,” said Vijai Narayanan, editor-in-chief of the Technique.

The Technique hopes to both inform and entertain the campus community, and wants to host similar events with other campus figures in the future.

“We think that hosting these events will allow us to go out into the campus community and better engage our readers to receive feedback about our work and understand the issues that are most relevant and important to them,” Narayanan said. “This is an important service that the Technique is uniquely positioned to provide to the Tech community.”

Kickoff for Ramblin' with Johnson is at noon Friday in the Student Center Theater; kickoff for the Yellow Jackets versus the Clemson Tigers is at 8 p.m. Saturday in Bobby Dodd Stadium.
