Historically Georgia Tech has had a rather narrow focus on engineering, science, and technology, but as the Institute moves into the twenty-first century, dissolving boundaries and new opportunities are increasing its breadth.

For many years, the Georgia Tech Foundation has embraced the Institute's spirit of flexibility and collaboration, supporting a diverse array of projects with funding from private gifts. That tradition continued in fiscal year 2006, with Foundation funds supporting a broad spectrum of projects including undergraduate research, international programs, alternative fuels research, student-athletes, and countless others.
