The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is accepting nominations for Fellowships for Science and Engineering. This opportunity provides fellowships for faculty in the natural and physical sciences or engineering who are within the first three years of their faculty careers. Sixteen recipients will receive individual grants of $875,000 distributed over five years. Georgia Tech has been invited to submit two nominations for consideration.

Detailed information and guidelines can be found on the Packard Foundation web site at Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering and Fellowship Guidelines. Please be aware that eligible candidates must be in one of the following disciplines: physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, astronomy, computer science, earth science, ocean science, and all branches of engineering.

Please submit all nominations for a Packard Fellowship electronically, as one PDF, to spatt@gatech.edu by Wednesday, February 27, 2013 by COB. Nominations should include all the requested information in Item 2 under Nomination and Application Requirements in the Packard guidelines (see page 2 of the Fellowship Guidelines). The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research will convene a faculty committee to review the nominations package to select the two which will represent Georgia Tech.
