Professors Program

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) has announced that they will resume their Professors Program in 2014.  This prestigious program focuses on science education and "aims to empower research scientists who can convey the excitement and values of scientific research to undergraduate students."  As an eligible institution, Georgia Tech has no restrictions on the number of applications we may submit.

To be eligible for the five-year, $1 million grants, candidates must:
  • Be full-time, tenured faculty
  • Have had a full-time appointment in their home departments for at least 3 consecutive years
  • Teach undergraduates
  • Be a principal investigator on a national peer-reviewed research award of at least three years duration
