History
In July 2007, the Event Coordinators’ Council (ECC) was created in an effort to centralize communication and improve collaboration among those with event planning responsibilities throughout campus. The initial ECC members realized many of their peers were also interested in receiving event management resources and that the Institute would benefit from more centralized, collaborative, and effective event planning. Therefore, they developed the Event Coordinators’ Network (ECN), a group of self-selected staff members who are interested in event planning or expanding their skill sets at Georgia Tech. In 2010, the ECC restructured to include a leadership committee—the Event Leadership Team (EVLT)—responsible for ECN strategic oversight and direction. The following vision and mission statements were adopted in 2009:
ECN’s vision is to be the primary gateway through which faculty, staff, and students coordinate events at Georgia Tech.
ECN’s mission is to provide faculty, staff, and students with a centralized repository to aid in effectively coordinating events at the Georgia Institute of Technology through its primary areas of focus, which include networking, resources, and development.

ECN Participant Feedback
"As a new member of the Georgia Tech team, this workshop was very valuable. I learned so much about different resources the campus community offers! I recommend that anyone who is involved in event planning on campus attend next year."
"I thought that the conference was the best ever events conference we have hosted. I know it took a lot of hard work to pull off something that spectacular, but the results certainly reflected the efforts."
