Laura has worked at Georgia Tech since June 2007, first as an event coordinator and now as manager of Special Events & Protocol. Before joining the Georgia Tech team, she spent two years at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, where she learned the finer points of providing excellent customer service and exceeding expectations. Other experience includes four years of event planning and programming in a student affairs setting and at non-profit agencies. Laura’s primary responsibilities include executing new event projects, consulting with campus clients, and overseeing annual campus events. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia.

Serena came to Georgia Tech in July 2011 with more than five years of event planning experience. Her most recent jobs at the Atlanta History Center and Rhodes Hall prepared her for working with a diverse cadre of clients and events. Serena brings an upbeat, can-do attitude to all events and measures success in the happiness expressed by clients and guests. Serena’s main responsibilities include coordinating annual campus events and providing consultation to campus colleagues. Serena earned a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Georgia State University.
