CENTER FOR EDUCATION INTEGRATING SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, AND COMPUTING (CEISMC)
CEISMIC Brings K-12 Outreach to Technology Square
Georgia Tech's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC)
is making its new home at Technology Square. The center is focused primarily on outreach to the K-12 education
community.
CEISMC partners with educational leaders and representatives of foundations and corporations
across the state of Georgia. Because of its many visitors, Technology Square is the perfect new location for
the center, said Paul Ohme, director of CEISMC. "We think that it's a prestigious location, and it certainly
will present us well to the public," he said.
CEISMC is joined in its offices at Technology Square by its partner organization, the Georgia
Leadership Institute, a state group charged with training all superintendents and principals in Georgia. CEISMC
provides the organization's evaluation and technology needs, and the Leadership Institute helps CEISMC reach out
to the state's school systems.
The CEISMC commitment is both idealistic and practical. As academics and professionals who care
deeply about their fields, CEISMC supporters see scientific and mathematical understanding as a way of enriching
human experience in the modern world. With help from a broad-based constituency of Georgians, CEISMC seeks to
meet these future challenges by encouraging and inspiring the best in science, math, and technology education
for all students.
