Abstract: The Georgia Tech culture is rooted in discovery, innovation, and creation of ways that make a real difference in society, industry, government and academia. Our students must be well versed in the art and science of design. The Burdell Design Center leverages the wide range of complementary design cultures and practices across the Institute. It is a physical space where students can prototype and learn by doing. It offers both the physical as well as the pedagogical space to build shared literacies, collaborative experiences, and a common culture of problem-driven design, manufacturing, and innovation.
