Eventually GT will have to find ways to expand enrollment and retain as much a volume presence in higher education in Georgia, and the Institute should carefully consider how to do this. As the format for post-secondary education evolves and other institutions position themselves for producing next generation employees and producers, it will in turn impact the role and value of Georgia Tech within the State, region and nation. Developing the highest and best talent is critical, but equally so will be doing our part in helping as many Georgia students as possible develop their talents. Will it require new majors? An evolution of amenities and basic student resources? I can't say, but I do suspect Tech must find a way to grow enrollment in order to sustain (or improve) their value to local and regional economies.

GaTech should be more involved in offering college course options, in math and science, to high achieving high school students during their junior and senior years.

We should set a goal for increasing the number and percentage of graduate students who are Georgia citizens. This relates directly to a goal of improving the K-12 math and science education in Georgia schools.
