Linguistics (Minor)

The Schools of Modern Languages, Psychology, and Computer Science offer an interdisciplinary minor in Linguistics

The minor connects studies of: Physical structures and mental processes involved in human language. Psychological, neurobiological, and social/societal factors that enable humans to acquire, use, comprehend and produce language. Application of computer science to the analysis and synthesis of language and speech.

Leadership Studies (Minor)

The Minor in Leadership Studies provides students with an in-depth knowledge of leadership theory, skills, experience, and application through a rigorous, multi-disciplinary program of study.

The Leadership Studies minor is comprised of three tracks:

  • Global Engineering
  • Public Policy
  • Business

Law, Science, and Technology – Pre-Law (Minor)

The Law, Science, and Technology minor offers a wide range of curricular opportunities, pre-law advising, and support services for students considering law school and careers in law. The program introduces students to selected areas of law that they are likely to study in law school. Students will begin to develop the skills that they will need to succeed in law school and in law practice.

Latin American and LatinX Studies (Minor)

This interdisciplinary minor focuses on the regions and people of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Latino/Latinx peoples in the United States.

The minor is offered jointly by the Schools of History and Sociology; Literature, Media, and Communication; Modern Languages and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Through the interdisciplinary study of history, politics, economics, literature, media, and languages of these regions and populations, students engage in comparative study of societies, values, and local/global issues.

Korean (Minor)

The Minor in Korean program is designed for students who wish to develop their language skills to at least an intermediate level and to provide themselves with a greater depth than possible with a certificate program.

Japanese (Minor)

The Minor in Japanese is designed for students who wish to develop their language skills to at least an intermediate level and to provide themselves with a greater depth than possible with a certificate program.

International Security (MS)

Master of Science in International Security (MS ISEC) Conceptual Foundations and Practical Policy Analysis

The Master of Science in International Security (MS ISEC) program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to address pressing international security issues. With a customizable program of study, students can specialize in subjects such as great power rivalry, defense policy analysis, crisis decision-making, and more.

International Affairs, Science, and Technology (Ph.D.)

Focus: providing a unique opportunity for students with backgrounds in either social sciences or science and technology to deepen their understanding of international affairs through the advanced study of sub-fields such as international relations theory, international security, international political economy, comparative politics, and methods for social scientific research.
