Music Technology (Ph.D.)

Doctor of Philosophy with a Major in Music Technology advances knowledge, proficiency, and research in areas such as music theory, performance, composition, and/or analysis; music information retrieval, digital signal processing, and synthesis; interactive music systems design; and music cognition.

Music Technology (MS)

Focus: examining how recent technological developments in areas such as music recording, compression, distribution, and playback have fundamentally changed musical practices and preparing students to meet the need in industry and academia for music and audio technologists able to design, develop, and creatively employ the next generation of musical performances, products, and services.

Music Technology (BS)

The undergraduate program in the School of Music leads to a Bachelor of Science in Music Technology. In the program, students understand the role of technology in enabling new ways to access, consume, and create music. They master existing technologies and develop the skills necessary to innovate and create the ideas that will drive the music industry in the future.

Middle Eastern and North African Studies (Minor)

The Schools of History and Sociology, International Affairs, and Modern Languages offer a minor in Middle Eastern and North African Studies. This interdisciplinary minor connects studies of the regions and countries in the Middle East—their languages, their cultures, and their peoples, both concurrently in their national and international relationships as well as longitudinally over the course of history.

Microeconomics of Strategic Analysis (Minor)

The Minor in Microeconomics of Strategic Analysis (MESA) is designed around microeconomic theory courses pertaining to strategic decision making.

Students will learn not only core microeconomic theory, but also advanced micro theory concepts and tools pertaining to the economics of strategic decision-making, including game theory, industrial organization, behavioral economics, network economics, and the economics of information.
