Computation and Cognition (Minor)

Established by the School of Psychology in collaboration with the College of Computing and with support from the Schools of Physics and Mathematics, the Minor in Computation and Cognition is a highly interdisciplinary program that combines advanced computational training with the study of human cognition. Students will learn about the computational mechanisms underlying human cognition and use computational methods to better understand human cognition.

Aerospace Engineering (BS/MS)

The combined BS/MS honors program provides the opportunity to earn bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering (AE) in as little as five years. Up to six credit-hours of AE Options courses can be used for both the B.S. and M.S. degrees. In order to double-count courses, the master's degree must be completed within two years of the date the bachelor's degree is earned.

International Affairs, Science, and Technology (MS)

This program offers students the conceptual foundations and practical policy analysis of issues at the intersection of international politics, science, and technology. With increasing concerns about a globalizing international environment and the ability to address emerging technological and political challenges, this master’s degree is timely.

Students will be exposed to issues related to energy, the environment, information and communication technologies, space policy, disruptive technologies, intelligence, arms control, and other contemporary issues.

Construction Science and Management (BS)

Focus: developing a complete view of the building life cycle, including design, construction, and operation. Students learn technology-driven methods of construction management and critical leadership skills.

The curriculum shows students how prefabrication, 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, drones, and robotics can impact safety, profitability, and sustainability. It's the major for students who prefer the practical and tangible aspects of the built environment, incorporating perspectives of construction contractors, owners, and facility managers.

Black Media Studies (Minor)

The Black Media Studies minor provides students with an interdisciplinary exploration of Black media, culture, and representation. This minor critically examines the role of Black media in shaping cultural narratives and identities. Students engage with a variety of media forms, including film, television, music, and digital media, to understand the historical and contemporary contributions of Black creators and communities.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Minor)

The interdisciplinary minor in Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will equip undergraduate students with skills and knowledge to use AI and machine learning to solve problems in engineering, humanities, and social sciences. The curriculum is designed to also provide students with the insight to describe and discuss current ethics and policy frameworks related to AI and machine learning.

Environmental Science (BS)

The B.S. in Environmental Science (ENVS) degree encompasses the study of natural environmental systems and the interaction of humans with these systems. It includes a strong foundation in the basic sciences, requiring core content in biology, chemistry, Earth sciences, environmental policy, mathematics, and physics, as well as communication, computational skills, field, and upper-level coursework builds lab. Students are encouraged to create a focused pathway of electives that corresponds to their interests and career goals.

Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences (BS)

The B.S. in Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences (SEP) degree is for students interested in developing mechanical and dynamic understanding of processes that control planetary behavior and are looking to apply Georgia Tech’s strengths in mathematics and computation to understand the evolution, future, hazards, and structure of planetary bodies, including Earth.

SEP students will:
